How to Measure Ring Size
- Wrap a piece of string or a strip of paper no wider than 1/4inch around your finger.
- Mark the point where the two ends meet.
- Measure the string or paper against a ruler to get the circumference of your finger in either inches or mm.
- Divide that by 3.14 to get the diameter of your finger.
- Look up your ring size using the conversion chart below.
- For a more accurate measurement, we recommend visiting a local jeweler to have your finger sized.

Tips for Measuring Your Ring Size
- Temperature, humidity, and exercise can also temporarily change finger size. Don't take measurements after showering, being outdoors in the winter, vigorous exercise, etc. For the best fit, measure the finger at room temperature toward the end of the day when the finger is at its largest.
- A woman’s menstrual cycle can also increase the finger size slightly because of water retention. If you don't want to end up with a loose fitting ring most of the time, try not to take a measurement during your menstrual cycle.
- If the finger joints are prominent, measure the widest part of the finger.
- If buying a ring as a surprise gift, try to get an existing ring from your partner. Slide the ring onto a tapered candle or carrot, mark where it comes to rest easily, and measure the circumference at that point. Or simply ask your partner's family members or friends if they know the ring size.
